How to Cook Steak Perfectly Every Time | The Stay At Home Chef

Learn how to cook steak perfectly every single time with this easy to follow recipe where steak is seared in a skillet on the stove and finished in the oven.





INGREDIENTS

2 beef steaks, at least 1-inch thick
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
2 tablespoons softened butter
1-2 cloves garlic, minced



INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove steaks from refrigerator and any packaging and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.

2. Rub each side with the olive oil to coat. Combine the salt, pepper, and onion powder in a small bowl. Rub both sides of each steak with the rub mixture.

3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Preheat a heavy, oven-safe skillet over high heat until it is smoking hot. Sear steaks in the hot pan for 2-3 minutes per side. If the steak has a side of fat, turn the steak onto its side and render the fat by searing it for 2-3 minutes as well.

4. Slide the skillet with the seared steaks in it into the oven to finish cooking. Remove the steaks from the oven 5 degrees before the desired level of doneness is achieved, or 130 degrees F for medium rare.

5. While the steaks are cooking, use a fork to combine the butter with garlic in a small bowl.

6. When the steaks are removed from the grill, immediately top with 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture and allow the steaks to rest 10 minutes before cutting into them. The temperature of the steak will continue to rise as it rests by about 5 degrees.

SUMMARY
- Don't fry a piece of meat that you've just taken out of the fridge. Leave it for an hour or 2 before cooking to let it come up to room temperature. Now you'll fry the meat evenly and get a great meal, regardless of how you like your steak done. 


- It takes time to fry chicken or pork properly, and you can dry them out very easily. To avoid this, many European chefs use a simple trick: they put the meat in a brine. It's very easy to make a good brine: take 3 cups of water, and add ¼ cup of salt and ¼ cup of sugar. Pour the brine into your meat so that the liquid covers it, and put the bowl in a fridge.
 

- To extract natural flavors and enhance the taste of the black pepper or cumin in your dish, toss them in a pan over medium heat, toasting them until they're fragrant. After that, you can use a mortar and pestle to grind your spices.
- If you want to make it perfect, here is a simple rule. Take the butter and eggs out of the fridge the night before to let them come up to room temperature.
- If you want to fry fish on a grill, spread some mayonnaise on it to get a tasty, delicate crust. Take a pastry brush, dip the tip in the sauce, and lightly apply mayo to the fish. Add some salt, and then grill it.
- Alain Ducasse, one of the most famous chefs in the world, revealed his secret for cooking a great steak. The steak is placed on its edge because it renders the fat. Now you're able to cook the steak in beef fat, plus it creates a delicious crust on the edges.
 

- Before turning boiled potatoes into the mashed ones, you need to dry them properly. Just place them in a clean heated frying pan, and keep them there until the remains of water dry out. Don't let the heat fry them. When the potatoes are dry, you'll get the best creamy mashed potatoes.
- Right before you start cooking it, fry all the vegetables separately with olive oil. Then add some water or broth. Frying will caramelize the sugar in the vegetables and enhance their flavor. The dish will be exquisite and tasty.
- Regardless of the recipe you follow, always add two tablespoons of sour cream to the mix. This trick suits all kinds of pancakes well, and they turn out to be very tasty, fluffy, and free of cracks.
 

- Sugar can be as good a seasoning as salt. Add a bit of sugar to a dish with pickled or fresh tomatoes or a tomato paste. The sugar reduces their natural sourness and makes any meal taste better.
- The 3 components of perfectly fried eggs are a thick-walled frying pan, butter, and minimum heat. Heat up the frying pan, and add 1/2 tablespoon of butter. It has to melt slowly, not reach a sizzle. Break the eggs, and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add salt, and enjoy perfectly fried eggs.
 

- A clear broth is the main component in many soups, sauces, and other dishes. To make a crystal clear broth, you need to cook chicken on a low heat without a cover for at least 3 hours.
 

- If you bake at home, you might have faced difficulties with your crust: it's either too pale or too thick. You can solve this problem quite easily by putting a bowl of water into your oven when you bake. Instead of such a bowl, you can use a tray full of ice cubes.
 

-Use a medium heat for frying, and add both cooking oil and butter to the heated frying pan. Cut the onions, and fry them with some salt.
 

- If you still love to eat it but don't want to frighten away your date or wreck the negotiations, don't add garlic to the dish. Instead, you can apply some garlic juice to the plate. Thus you'll avoid the unpleasant smell and enjoy your favorite flavor.

Carefully separate yolks using a plastic bottle and gently put 1 egg yolk into every avocado half. Season each filled avocado with paprika, dried bacon, ham, parsley or cheese and bake for 30 minutes.

- 1.5 cups rice (preferrably the Spanish paella rice known as 'BOMBA')
- 1 kg. mix of seafoods (shrimp, fish, mussels. clams, squid, etc)
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 1 large onions
- 1 medium sweet bell pepper
- 1 medium carrot
- 5-7 pcs. green beans
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 liter paella or fish stock
- 1 pack of paella powder mix
- salt to taste
- widges of lemon as garnish

HOW TO COOK KOREAN BEEF BULGOGI [DELICIOUS KOREAN BBQ BEEF]


A long time ago a friend of mine from Korea shared this recipe with me, and now I'm gonna share you this easy beef bulgogi recipe. It doesnt need lots of ingredients and also not time consuming. The best version is to soak the beef with the marination overnight.

 To cook bulgogi beef at home, you'll need :

 ingredients : 

120 gr onion 1 medium pear 

6 garlic cloves ginger 

1 tbsp ginger scallion marination : 

2 tbsp soy sauce 

1 tbsp sesame oil 

1 tbsp honey/brown sugar/sugar 

50 gr sirloin/tenderloin sesame seeds to finish #koreanbeefbulgogi #beefbulgogirecipe

How to cook rice and steamed fish in 30 minutes using Russel Hobbs Steamer. Rice recipe: -1.5 cup of rice into the inner container - rinse 3 times with water until the water clear, remove the water -add water about 0.5cm above the rice surface - Add water into the Russel Hobbs steamer, place the cover. Place the first cooking container (the smallest), then put the inner container with rice in, cover with the lid, set the timer for 30 minutes. 

 

 Now...prepare the fish Steamed fish recipe: - fresh fish, I used 420g trout (remove the guts and scales, rinse the cavity with clean water - or have it cleaned by the fish seller when you buy it). - salt 1 tsp - pepper to taste - sugar 1 tsp - spicy sauce 1 tablespoon (taste it first, if it salty, reduce your amount of added salt) - sesame oil or olive oil - onion 1 - sliced / chopped - garlic 2 - chopped - lemongrass 1 Cooking steps: Sliced some cuts on the fish meat, place it on the aluminum foil (use double to avoid breaking) 

Add salt, pepper, sugar, and spicy sauce, rub the fish (also inside the cavity and stomach) to mixed these ingredients evenly. Add lemongrass, onions, and garlic, put some inside its cavity and stomach, and into the cuts. Wrap it the aluminum foil.
